Ran into a couple of nice Corvettes while out and about for the holiday. The C7 owner chased me down and wanted to take a shot of the two cars. I was only too happy to oblige. He also let me poke around the thing for a few minutes, and I have to say I'm blown away at what a fantastic car GM has made with this iteration of the Corvette - I know I'll be looking out for a low miles weekend driver in a few years...

No. They do look bad ass though. :)
Ironically, my neighbor 3 doors down has a ZR1 exactly like that one and I've never had the chance to speak to him about it. I did get to chat with him about his M6 for a bit at the community mailbox. I need to make a 10 minute photo tour of my neighborhood - everything from vintage Volvos to mint 80's iron to things like G Wagens and the ZR1.
Been trying to get a car club started here, at least for things like the 4th of July parade and stuff like that.

What kind of tires do you have on your 911? I'm going to guess Yokohama AD08 R or some sort of lower tread/semi slick tire.

Dunlop Direzza Sport Star Spec or something like that. They're pretty decent. Wear well enough and forgive mistakes.

I have a buddy of mine that just moved to Houston from Chicago. He's running the bug-eyed WRX shown here. Can you keep me posted of any goings on with any C&C's and the like in the near future? I can pass the info along to him.

Damn it, not even close.
When you need new tires you should get some Michelin Pilot Super Sports, they're the best high performance summer tire on the market; Tire Rack has ranked them number 1, Car and Driver has, and every other review I've read has always said they're the best tires.

I like the Pilots. I'm running these because they came on the car when I bought it. Here's the tires on my not so daily driver...
Believe it or not, these are also my favorite street tire when they aren't shaved. :)

I'm not sure which ones they were. It was on a C6 Z06 that a friend I know has. Took it out for one session, and I was impressed with them. They had a ton of grip and great feedback. His car was pretty well set up for the track, with a roll bar, big brakes, and lots of suspension. I suppose if he was spending the money for Pilots, he was on whatever was the best. I'll definitely shop around before buying my next set.

I would guess he had the Pilot Sport Cup tires, they're semi slick track tires, and one of the best in the world, at least until Michelin released the Cup 2 tires which now adorn the Porsche 911 GT3 and 918, and also the Mercedes S65 AMG Black Series.
